- ★ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆I lived at Wood Creek Apartments for three years. The location was convenient because it is close to a lot of stores and the universities. The first two years were okay until the last year living there. The were only a couple of problems we encountered. One was when there was a leak in one of the two bedrooms where cold air kept entering the room. As a result, there was molding on the wall. And the fact that the people responsible for cleaning the house for new resident didn't clean anything under the stove. When I opened it up to clean it, I found food I never recalled cooking the first week of living there. Here's what I experience my last year living there. One of their pump burst and most of the carpet was soaked. We called maintenance, and the maintenance people opened the wall. After opening the wall, our apartment was infested with mice. We had to call maintenance again, and how the maintenance people spoke, they blamed us for the mice problem. We lived with mice for two to three months because the apartment didn't care to exterminate the problem unless we consistently call maintenance. During the last year living there, they were remodeling the outside of the building. I believed it started in Fall and they continued through winter and into Spring. The people that were remodeling the home were very inconsiderate of the residents. They would blast their radios, and during their breaks, speak loudly into the phone. It's distracting to those living in the area. This is especially annoying since I have to listen to this ruckus for more than half a year. The maintenance people are rude. One time, one of my neighbor was locked out of his apartment. I called emergency maintenance, and they kept ridiculing me because I insisted they come over and unlock the door for the neighbor. I told them he did have his identification to that he is a resident. Maintenance people are not careful in the parking lot. One hit me once when he entered. I parked at the end of the driveway, and when I reversed out, a car sped into the parking lot, scraping the back of my car. After we had left, they told us to pay them because we dirtied their carpets and they had to replace their carpets. We asked them to send us photographs of the current state of the carpet, but they refused to send us proofs. Most of the damage to the carpet happened when the pump burst. Our lease ended in July, but we left in August. At the beginning of August, maintenance people were already entering our apartment and cleaning out the apartment to be more appropriate for the new residents. We only choose this apartment for its location, nothing else.By Mai Moua, March 18, 2018
